09/09/2023 O’Chiese First Nation Has Grand Opening of New Casino at Red Deer Resort & Casino The work on the long-expected Red Deer Resort & Casino is finally completed, and the grand opening of the property is scheduled for September 8. The impressive casino: The resort has been present on the market for more than 50 years, and while the name and look of the property have changed over the years, its hospitality and formidable service remained the same. The property is located in central Alberta, and it’s the most wanted place to stay in the province. However, it’s more than that. The resort consists of 241 guestrooms, along with 15 meeting rooms and a conference center, which is placed across 53,000 square feet. After the recent renovations, the impressive casino was added to the property, promising to draw even more residents and tourists to it. O’Chiese, a Saulteaux First Nation, the owner of the casino, is very proud of the new project. George Yammine, CEO of O’Chiese Business and Investment Center, commented: “The completion of the casino is a major milestone for us and the City of Red Deer. The casino will be a key driver of tourism and economic growth in the region, becoming a hub for entertainment for the region and beyond.” The property is located in the center of Downtown Red Deer, in a property where the Capri hotel was located. It isn’t the first casino located there – before Red Deer, there was Jackpot Casino. According to GlobeNewswire, the new casino will offer various gaming options, including table games, slot machines, and an impressive poker room, along with many dining options and a bar, creating a fantastic entertainment hub. Respecting the ancestral lands and traditions: O’Chiese First Nation gave a personal touch to the casino’s design, which was inspired by the Alberta prairies and the famous Rocky Mountains. The connection to ancestral lands, the spirits of nature, and sacred waters can be noticed through an integrated waterfall. All of the 38.000 square feet of the casino are dedicated to showing the landscape and tradition of the O’Chiese. The casino will be great for the region as well – not only will it increase the number of employees by 20%, as expected, but hotel and casino operations will greatly affect the community investment. Adrian Strawberry, O’Chiese Hospitality’s Hotel Operations Manager, said: “We look forward to welcoming guests to Red Deer Resort & Casino and providing them with a world-class entertainment experience. We have worked tirelessly to bring this project to fruition, and we cannot wait for you to experience it.” Source: Read Full Article
